Writing retreats and novel writing software.

I have a writing retreat with The Water Treaders early September. This means that I need 15000 words of my novel in working order by the tenth of August.

To help me in the process of this I have downloaded yWriter5 created by writer Simon Haynes. So far I have only imported one of my short stories into the program to see how it works, but I’m happy with the overall layout of the yWriter5. This means instead of using two programs with multiple files for storing my information, – Microsoft Excel for character profiles, Microsoft Word for my ideas/notes file, Microsoft Word again for the actual story itself – I can now use one file for all my information.

Extremely impressive and I’ll let you know how I go with importing the novel information into the program. I’ll also let you know if this program helps me with the writing/editing process. Fingers crossed!
